| Letter From The Chair
Dear Investors and Energy Entrepreneurs; The velocity of venture capital, mezzanine investment and strategic investment being directed toward the emerging growth end of the energy industries is increasing dramatically. While political and social factors certainly play important roles in driving this trend, the high prices that continue to define our energy business environment are opening wide the window of opportunity for new ideas and companies. The seventh edition of the Energy Venture Fair is responding to this growing activity, with what promises to be the largest meeting yet. Seventy-five exciting growth companies from around the world will present their business plans in a format which has been custom-designed by your suggestions and refined to meet the requirements of investors and presenters alike. As you have requested, we will have all of each company’s targeting information and detailed presentation schedule spread out in materials available when you register at the conference. And you may expect that plenty of networking time will be available. As in the past, the presenting companies will cover the spectrum of emerging growth in the energy businesses, whether hardware, software, or services, and the spectrum of capital needs from angel round or later, to post-IPO. They will reach across the energy industries, from renewable power, efficiency, and energy storage, to energy management, alternative fuels, and oil and gas exploitation and production. While clean and renewable technologies will be well-represented, they are only a part of the great array of new businesses that will be on display for investors to examine. In addition, Infocast has arranged for an exciting Keynote presentation, as well as a panel discussion from leading experts who are deeply engaged in the sourcing and investment of capital in energy technology. Finally, we have added a workshop that will allow you to get vital information and guidance from Torys’ legal experts about some of the most important issues facing investors and entrepreneurs. As you may gather from the number and quality of the sponsors who have joined us, the Energy Venture Fair has earned its accolades as the premier forum of its kind in North America, if not the world, for addressing emerging growth investment opportunities in the energy industries. The lawyers of Torys LLP are proud once again to be the Host Sponsors of Energy Venture Fair VII, and we look forward to meeting with you in Santa Clara, California. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make the opportunity more worthwhile.
Sincerely,
|
